The 3.5-liter V6 is now standard on all LX models and optional for the GLS.
- Reasonable price, strong warranty, roomy interior, long list of standard features, solid construction, good crash test scores.
- Underpowered with base engine, soft suspension limits handling ability.

Great SUV except MPG - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By tgalinski - August 15 - 2:00 amGreat for the money. Great in the snow. Sound system, heated seats, moon roof and added remote start with alarm are terriffic. Power seats would be helpful and/or ability to extend leg room of drvers seat. I m not that tall but uncomfortable on long distances. Gas milage sucks much less than advertized!

Great car great buy - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By deverell17 - August 4 - 10:00 amIve had no problems at all with this vehicle - it has a stylish exterior design and a very smooth ride. Its fun to drive and there is room for that perfect 4 person family with plenty of room for cargo too. The side airbags and high safety rating are reasurring.

3.5L worth waiting for - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Foreav - July 10 - 10:00 amWe actually went to the dealer to try out the Tribute based on your review but tried the Santa Fe 2.7L and they compared very close to what we wanted. Once we drove the 3.5L we were sold on the Sante Fe. We wanted a car type ride with more upscale interior design and controls which sold us on the Santa Fe. It has performed very well so far without any warranty issues. The gas pedal has been somewhat difficult to get smooth acceleration.

Better than expected - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By John Rumbach - May 22 - 2:00 amWe traded a Subaru Forester which we liked very much, but the Santa Fes power, style, size and other features for the money made it irresistable. The quality is outstanding, and we appreciate the effort Hyundai has put into this SUV, to make it a superior purchase for us. John and Ellen Rumbach

I miss my santa fe - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By johnpa2006 - May 3 - 9:30 pmBuilt solid, I loved my Santa Fe. engine purred like a kitten from mile zero all the way up to 142000 miles when I traded it in. Bought in 2004, traded in 2008 I still regret trading it in to this day. So many practical use reasons to own a Santa Fe.

Nice Ride - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By SWMan - March 29 - 10:00 amGood value. Smooth ride and much quieter than our Ford Windstar. One problem with putting it in park (started rolling a couple of times). Hyundai rep told me that they can be difficult to put in park.

Great suv at a great price - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By donna - November 26 - 2:00 amLet your misguided friends spend twice as much on an overpriced, unreliable domestic SUV. THIS SUV is for the smart consumer who wants a great car, style and a superior warrenty at a great price!

Tried and true friend! - 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
By Lisa - November 22 - 3:16 amIve owned my car four years, 25,000 miles. It has always been reliable, never one problem. I was in an accident two years ago and had the front-end rebuilt. I anticipated problems, and still nothing! I traded cars for a day recently, and I really missed my sweet little Santa Fe! I do mostly city driving, but did take a road trip (10 hours each way) to the desert. She was a stellar off-road performer.
